Faux Fries

Writer's picture: Coach DebbiCoach Debbi

A couple of years ago, I discovered a great alternative to white potatoes from a friend who had shared with me that turnips would work in their place.

I began using them in soups and stews and other dishes.

That's when I decided to use them to make fries.

I sliced them in rounds and stir fried them in my skillet with a little avocado oil, seasoned with Himalayan salt, pepper and smoked paprika.

Tonight I used my vegetable chopper (which I LOVE) to make fry cuts. I then spread them in my NuWave oven. They are so good!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 large turnip

  • Avocado oil

  • Seasonings: Himalayan salt, black pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika

  • Serve with organic ketchup

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Slice turnip into Fry cuts

  • Spread on NuWave (or put in skillet)

  • Spritz with Avocado oil until coated

  • Season and cook

ENJOY!
