I have made a new friend thanks to Instagram. She's the head chef at a historic inn on the other side of the country from me, but oh how I would love to visit one day!
Maggie posted about a smoothie she had made the other morning and had the recipe listed. I had to try it and let's say that it must be fabulous, as it's been my breakfast the last two mornings. (You must follow Maggie's site at Alternative Dish for wonderful recipes!)
I made only the smallest of tweaks to her original recipe. Here is how I've made it the last two days:
Sweetness on my Tongue:
2 T of chia seeds in ½ cup of organic almond milk (you can use any plant milk) and let it sit for about 15 minutes at least, so it thickens.
1 cup of organic berries (I use frozen mixed)
½ banana
½ cup of organic almond milk
Blend until smooth and thick.
Pour in glass, top with the Chia Pudding and mix it all around.
