It's ready! What is? My perfect Meatless Black Bean Patty recipe.
I found a recipe a few months back that I liked and made a few tweaks to it, a few more and even more until I found what I wanted.
What was I looking for?
A meatless "meaty" patty to use for when I am hungry for a burger - whether wrapped in lettuce, on top of a bed of spinach or in my No Corn Bread as a sandwhich.
After playing around a few times, I found my perfect mix!
It's hearty, loaded with protein, is very flavorful and provides the meatiness I was looking for - feel free to try it out for yourself!
INGREDIENTS: (makes 4 patties)
1 can of organic black beans, drained and rinsed
¼ (apprx) cup of chopped onion (I use organic purple)
¼ (apprx) cup of chopped bell pepper (I prefer red, yellow, orange)
1 cup chopped mushrooms
3 Tbs of chickpea/garbanzo bean flour
1 egg
½ Tbs of Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbs of barbeque sauce
Optional: 1 oz of fresh Mozzarella cheese cut up or grated
Seasons to taste: Himalayan salt, black pepper, garlic powder, all seasons no salt, turmeric, cumin, chili powder (and whatever else you like)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Drain and rinse beans. Pour out on a paper towel on a plate and pat dry. Remove paper towel and press beans with a fork until mashed, but not completely smooth. Put in a bowl.
Add all other ingredients and mix together.
Form patties and put on parchment paper, or a lightly sprayed baking sheet. I use my NuWave Oven and spray a light mist of avocado oil on the base of the tray.
Bake at 350ºfor 10 minutes, flip and bake another 10. Makes 6 patties.
Serve and ENJOY!
