I thought I had shared these before, but obviously not on this site, so here we go...
Two very easy desserts using only whole, complete foods that are not only super simple and delicious, but also nutritious are listed below.
ICE CREAM
This can be made in different flavors, but my favorite and the one I make every weekend is...
CHOCOLATE!
Very Ripe Bananas (1 per serving)
Raw Cacao Powder (¼ tsp per serving)
Almond Milk (apprx ¼ cup per serving, depending on how thick or creamy you like it.)
Put all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend. I use a VitaMix and like it pretty thick so I have to use the tamper to work it.
It can be eaten immediately or stored in an ice cream container (found mine on Amazon.)
VANILLA
Same as above, but use real vanilla to flavor instead of cacao powder.
BANANA
Duh
ANY FRUIT
This same method can be used with any frozen fruit. I sometimes will use frozen mango, pineapple and strawberries to make a frozen tropical creamy delight.
STOVE TOP APPLE or PEAR DELIGHT
Organic Apple (your choice, but I use Gala and 1 per serving)
Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Clove or whatever spices you like. I sometimes use Pumpkin Pie Spice mix
A little water
Optional: chopped nuts of choice
Chop up the apples (skins and all) and put in a small skillet. Add a tablespoon or so of water depending on the pan you use. Can also use a tiny bit of coconut oil if needed to keep from sticking)
Add seasonings and simmer, stirring all the while. Add more water as needed until apples are soft and spices have formed a sauce. Serve hot with a dollop of whipped cream or put on top of the ice cream above.
I hope you find these to satisfy your sweet tooth like they do ours. Both of these are staples at our home.
ENJOY!
